Amy Butler

VP, Chief Risk Officer

As Chief Risk Officer for Banner Life Insurance Company and William Penn Life Insurance Company of New York (the Banner Life family of companies), Amy Butler plays a vital role in keeping the organization safe and resilient. Since joining the Banner Life family of companies in April 2011, Amy has led the development and growth of our enterprise risk management practices. Appointed CRO in August 2011, she is responsible for identifying, classifying, and monitoring risks across all areas of our business.

Amy brings nearly 30 years of experience to the Banner Life family of companies, having previously held key leadership positions at The Prudential Insurance Company of America, gaining valuable expertise in Operations, Finance, Internal Audit, and Annuities Operations Risk Management over her 23-year career there. She also served as AVP of Internal Audit at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, where she oversaw Insurance and Annuity operations for four years.

Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from St. Francis College and an MBA in Accounting from LaSalle University. She is actively involved in professional organizations, including the Institute of Internal Auditors and the ACLI Global Risk Management Committee, and holds both FLMI and CFSA designations.
