Barbara Esau

Barbara Esau’s career with the Banner Life family of companies spans more than 30 years. During that time, Barbara held progressively responsible positions and now serves as Vice President, Human Resources. She is responsible for developing and executing a human resources strategy that supports the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. In addition to human resources, Barbara also leads corporate services, the department responsible for managing administrative functions such as purchasing, tenant relations, and real estate transactions.

Barbara has overseen key projects for the Banner Life family of companies, including implementing a new HR platform that automated many manual functions and provides staff with self-service options; moving the company headquarters from Rockville to Urbana; and hiring talent that has helped the organization achieve sustained success.
