Barbara Esau brings years of leadership and experience to the Banner Life family of companies. As Vice President of Human Resources, Barbara is dedicated to advancing the workplace, fostering a culture that aligns with the Banner Life family of companies’ mission, vision, and business goals.

Barbara leads all aspects of human resources, internal communications, and the people and workplace experience teams. She also oversees real estate, tenant relations, safety and security, and facility operations, ensuring that the Banner Life family of companies remains a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for all employees.

Throughout her career, Barbara has driven transformative HR initiatives, including the launch of modern platforms that streamline processes and empower managers and staff with self-service tools, actionable metrics, and data insights—making the work experience more efficient and rewarding.

A proud graduate of the University of Maryland, Barbara holds a BS and several professional designations. She serves on the Executive Committee and is Chair of the Benefits Administrative Committee.
